Tango 101 and Intermediate Tango w/ Felipe & Ayano (6 dance classes)

Join us for Tango 101 or Intermediate Tango with Felipe Martinez and Ayano Yoneda!  Both class levels meet on six Wednesdays starting Wednesday, May 21st.  Felipe and Ayano teach a fun, challenging class that emphasizes tango structure and technique for social dancing.

UPDATE:  This series has already started.  If you are new to tango, we recommend that you wait and start at the beginning of our next four-week series on Wednesday, July 9th.  (This series is also taught by Felipe and Ayano!)

These classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers,” and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.

8:00-8:30 pm practica
8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango series
9:30-10:00 pm practica

The practicas are included with the classes. Stay, dance, and ask questions! Beginners may stay and watch the intermediate class. Intermediate students are welcome to arrive at 8:00 to practice together with the beginners.

$120 general admission (six classes)

Drinks are for sale at Morgan’s Bar and Lounge, across the hall from the ballroom. All ages are welcome in the dance classes.

We are a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking, use the bell to enter through the service entrance, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the City Club lot. Street parking is free after 6:00 pm. Extra parking is available for $2 per hour at the Ellsworth Structure at 2337 Haste St. There is also parking at First Church, right across Durant from the Berkeley City Club, for a $10 flat fee (pay with qr code).
