Mira Barakat is coming back to teach beginning tango and intermediate tango! Mira is a full-time professional tango teacher who is equally excellent at leading and following. She helps students create connection and communication in their dance, while explaining the technique very clearly.

The beginner class is geared towards total beginners. For the intermediate class, we recommend that you have been dancing tango regularly for at least six months.

This dance class is taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers” and is inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.

Wednesdays, Nov. 13th through Dec. 18th
7:00-8:00 pm beginner class
8:00-8:30 pm practica
8:30-9:30 pm intermediate class
9:30-10:00 pm practica

Intermediate students are welcome to arrive at 8:00 to start practicing!

$120 for a six-week series (beginner or intermediate)
$90 for student with ID (beg. or int.)
$25 general admission (single class)

Drinks are for sale at Morgan’s Bar and Lounge, across the hall. All ages are welcome in the dance classes.

The Berkeley City Club is one of the most beautiful places to dance tango in the San Francisco Bay Area, very accessible to most folks in the East Bay. We are a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking, use the bell to enter through the service entrance, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the City Club lot. Extra parking is available for $2 per hour at the Ellsworth Structure at 2337 Haste St.
