DESCRIPTION:Felipe Martinez and Ayano Yoneda are back to teach tango in Berkeley! Felipe and Ayano teach fun\, challenging classes that emphasize the underlying structure of tango figures. Join us for a series of three Wednesday classes. No experience is necessary for the beginner class.\nThese classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers\,” and are inclusive to queer\, trans\, and non-binary people. Everyone is encouraged to lead and follow.\n.\nWednesdays: June 10th\, 17th\, and 24th6:45 pm: check-in7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango8:00-8:30 pm practica8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango9:30-10:30 pm practica\n.\nThe practicas are included with the classes. Stay\, dance\, and ask questions! Beginners and intermediates practice together from 8:00-8:30.\nThe intermediate class is geared towards people who have been dancing for at least three months (12 tango classes). DESCRIPTION:All the way from Buenos Aires\, Anahí is visiting Berkeley to teach tango in July! Anahí’s classes are challenging\, active\, and fun. A professor at the National University of the Arts\, Anahí has a deep knowledge of tango dance and culture. In these classes\, she teaches tango figures for social dancing\, emphasizing lead-follow communication. No experience is necessary for the beginner class.\n.\nThese classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers\,” and are inclusive to queer\, trans\, and non-binary people. Everyone is encouraged to lead and follow.\n.\nWednesdays\, July 8th\, 15th\, 22nd\, 29th6:45 pm: check-in7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango8:00-8:30 pm practica8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango9:30-10:00 pm practica\n.\nThe practicas are included with the classes. Stay\, dance\, and ask questions! Beginners and intermediates practice together from 8:00-8:30.\nThe intermediate class is geared towards people who have been dancing for at least three months (12 tango classes). Currently a professor at the National University of the Arts\, her elite credentials include a Provincial Malambo Championship and a semifinalist spot at the World Tango Championship. She is the creator of the shows Vinculadas and Otro modo\, and co-creator of the show Nuestra historia.\n.\nThe Berkeley City Club is a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking\, use the bell to enter through the service entrance\, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the Berkeley City Club lot.
