DESCRIPTION:Elly Fernandez teaches tango in Berkeley\, Wednesdays\, Oct. 15th\, 22nd\, and 29th! Elly is a full-time tango teacher\, currently on tour\, who brings to the class her love of community-building and creativity in the dance. Join us for the beginner class\, intermediate class\, or both!\n\nThese classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers\,” and are inclusive to queer\, trans\, and non-binary people. No partner necessary.\n\n6:45-7:00 pm: check-in7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango8:00-8:30 pm practica8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango9:30-10:00 pm practica\n\nThe practicas are included with the classes. Stay\, dance\, and ask questions! Beginners are welcome to watch the intermediate class. DESCRIPTION:In November\, we are happy to have tango teacher Mira Barakat back at La Bruja! Mira’s classes focus on simple\, elegant movements for social dancing. Mira is equally amazing at leading and following\, and promotes role-switching for those who would like to try it. She is an expert at communicating clearly to a large group. Mira teaches private lessons in Oakland\, is also a frequent teacher at Abrazo Queer Tango in Berkeley. This is a series of three Wednesdays. We encourage everyone to sign up for all three classes\, but drop-ins are also welcome. \nNo partner necessary; the teacher encourages people to switch partners throughout the class. \nThese classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers\,” and are inclusive to queer\, trans\, and non-binary people. \nWednesdays\, November 12th\, 19th\, and 26th\n6:45 pm: check-in\n7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango series\n8:00-8:30 pm practica\n8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango series\n9:30-10:00 pm practica \nThe intermediate class is geared towards people who have been dancing for at least three months (12 tango classes). For bike parking\, use the bell to enter through the service entrance\, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the City Club lot. Street parking is free after 6:00 pm.
