With a dance background in Modern dance\, Contact Improv\, Swing and Blues dance\, Mira took quickly to tango after attending her first milonga in 2006 and felt especially drawn to the connection and embrace. A few years later\, she moved to Buenos Aires to study intensively\, dance\, sing and soak up tango in its birthplace. She returns to Buenos Aires every year where she co-hosts a tango immersion program\, BA. Tango Evolution. DESCRIPTION:Wednesdays in October\, Mira Barakat teaches tango at La Bruja! This class focuses on technique and musicality for social dancing. All levels of experience are welcome. This is a queer-friendly class where all genders are welcome to lead and follow.  This is a drop-in class\, but it helps to come every week\n\n6:45-7:00 pm: check-in\n7:00-8:00 pm: tango class\n8:00-10:00 pm: tango practica with DJ Mira\n\n$20 general admission (cash only)\n$15 students with ID (cash only)\n$10 practica without class (cash only)\n\nThis event takes place in the ballroom (with wooden floor) on Oct. 4th\, 18th\, and 25th; and in the drawing room (with tile floor) on Oct. 11th.\n\nWe are a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking\, use the bell to enter through the service entrance\, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the City Club lot.
